Adam Everett 2010 Season
Adam broke Spring Training as the Tigers starting shortstop, but is expected to split time with Ramon Santiago at this position. After batting less than .100 during the Spring, he has gotten off to a better start in the regular season, but is still a liability in the Tiger attack. Through the first 29 games he was hitting .184. He has not let his hitting affect him in the field and is playing his usual flawless defense as the Tigers were off to a 16 - 13 record in the Central division.
June 06, 2010 - Adam is receiving less playing time as the Tigers struggle to find hitting from the botttom three in their lineup. It appears the Alex Avila - catcher, Ramon Santiago - Shortstop will begin to get more playing time at the expense of Everitt and Gerald Laird.
Adam Everett 2009 Season
Signed by the Tigers as a free agent, he split time with Ramon Santiago as the Tigers starting shortstop. His 15 sacrifice bunts led the Americn League.
In 345 at bats he produced 21 doubles and 3 homers, as well as contributing 44 RBIs. He finished the season with a .238 batting average which was 7 points short of his career average.
Adam hit .273 against left-handed pitching, but had difficulty against right-handers hitting only .217. His post All Star performance as a hitter, hurt the Tigers in their drive to the pennant as he hit for a sub .200 average during the second half of the season.
The Tigers were pleased with his defense and resigned him for the 2010 season with a one year contract for 1.55 million dollars.
