But after his trade to Texas he has been plagued with injuries and inconsistency. He is now regarded as a solid starter and innings eater, but the expectations as being an Ace of a staff have proven to be unrealistic.

    Adam Thomas Eaton was born in Seattle, Washington on November 23, 1977. He would attend Snohomish High School where he would earn All-America honors from Baseball America. He would forgo college to declare himself eligible for the Major League Baseball Draft.
  • Pro Career

    Eaton would be selected with the 11th pick in the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft. In 1999, he would be traded to the San Diego Padres with Carlton Loewer and Steve Montgomery for Andy Ashby. He would make his major league debut on May 30, 2000 with the San Diego Padres. He would establish himself as an excellent starting pitcher with plenty of potential with the Padres. In 2005, he would be traded to the Texas Rangers for Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez and Termel Sledge. But he would be plagued with injuries and inconsistency in Texas. In 2006, Eaton would sign with the Philadelphia Phillies as a free agent for three years and $24 Million dollars.
