Adam Cook is the brother of American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook. He passed away on May 3, 2009.
He underwent chemotherapy for brain cancer, which spread to his spine. Cook was able to be in the audience and watch his brother win American Idol. At first he thought he wouldn't be able to go because his doctor told him that he couldn't fly commercially with his condition. So Adam Cook's friends earned enough money to send him and his wife to Los Angeles on a charted medical jet, accompanied with a nurse. The letters AC often appeared on David Cook's guitar as a tribute to Adam Cook.
