Used to determine the regular-season champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Football, the Dr. Pepper ACC Championship Game takes place each year in December at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game was first played in 2005 after the conference expanded to host a total of 12 teams. The teams that finish their regular seasons atop the respective ACC Atlantic Division and ACC Coastal Division are invited to play in the ACC title game. Coaches Corner: ACC Championship 2010
Prior to the Virginia Tech Hokies and Florida State Seminoles meet to play in the 2010 ACC Football Championship Game, head coaches from the respective teams speak to the press. Frank Beamer, coach of the Hokies, notes that the game is "a proud moment" for Virginia Tech and credits the Seminoles for their season. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher expresses the excitement of playing in the game, also giving credit to his opponent, the Hokies.
