AC/DC is a hard rock band from Sydney, Australia. It was formed in 1973 by two brothers: Malcolm and Angus Young. Both played guitar and started playing gigs around the Sydney area. Angus was only 15 years old at the time and his sister suggested that he should wear his school uniform on stage; the look became the band's visual trademark.
Bon Scott and his strong vocal chords then joined the band, along with Harry Vanda, George Young (Angus’ and Malcolm’s older brother), Phil Rudd and Mark Evans.
The band went on to find stardom in the 1970s and found plenty of success with hits like “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “TNT.” In the fall of 1977, AC/DC released [[Let There Be Rock]], which became its first album to chart in the U.S.

AC DC History
Shortly after, the band released Back in Black, which became its best seller. However, tragedy hit AC/DC in 1980 when Scott died from an apparent overdose of alcohol. In fact, AC/DC has had a number of situations befall it over the years and has had a number of lineup changes during that time.
However, it has still remained a very popular band and still tours to this date. The band is considered to be a top international draw with its strong, steady beats and power guitar chords, reminiscent of the power bands of the 1970s.
Other albums the band has released since its heyday in the 1970s and early 1980s are Flick of the Switch in 1983, the 1990 album The Razor’s Edge, their 16th album Ballbreaker in 1995, which received some of the band’s most positive reviews for any of its albums, to go along with the 2000 album Stiff Upper Lip.
AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
