AC/DC

Categories: Entertainment
  • AC/DC are a Rock band from Sydney, Australia and one of the most popular Hard Rock groups of all time. Over the course of their 30+ year career, the band weathered the death of their original lead singer, overcome various lineup changes and addictions to drugs and alcohol to sell over 63 million records worldwide. Still on tour today, they remain one of Rock and Roll's Best Bands Ever.
  • Career

Started by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young in 1973, the band released their debut album High Voltage in 1975. The album's success helped them get a contract with Atlantic Records and opening gigs for prominent bands such as Aerosmith, KISS, Blue Oyster Cult and Cheap Trick. While 1979's Highway to Hell was a smash hit, the band dealt with tragedy when learned that singer Bon Scott had died of acute alcohol poisoning. After the death of Scott, they regrouped with new singer Brian Johnson to release their biggest selling album to date, 1980's Back in Black. Since that time, AC/DC have continued to write and record new material. Their latest album, Black Ice, was released October 20, 2008 exclusively through Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores.
