Absolut Mexico Ad - Absolut Vodka began running a controversial print advertisement in Mexico in a recent magazine and on billboards as well. The advertisement shows a map of the United States and Mexico with the borders redrawn, hearkening back to a pre-American purchase of the lands once under the control of the Mexican government. This advertisement has sparked much controversy in both countries, reviving nationalism and patriotic sentiments. Absolut has issued a statement on their blog that this was not intended to insult any particular group or country. The ads, however, continue to be displayed on billboards.
