Following political chaos in recent months, lawmakers in Thailand have voted in Abhisit Vejjajiva as Prime Minister, he collected 235 of the 433 chamber votes. Although the chamber normally has 480 voting members, a number of recent vacancies have dwindled the count to 437. Demonstrators opposed to the appointment gathered outside the parliament, but dispersed peacefully. Vejjajiva has refrained from making any policy statements until he is officially endorsed by the monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.FoxNews.com: Thai Opposition Leader Becomes Prime Minister (December 15, 2008)
