Abducted Latvia Boy

Categories: News | Current Events | Victims
  • A DNA test verified that the 16-year-old boy police recently discovered is the same person as the 6-weeks-old Latvian baby who was abducted outside a store in 1992.

Police discovered that the teenager did not have a proper birth certificate or identification code when they arrested the woman who'd been raising him for an unrelated investigation. At the time of the discovery, the case into the missing boy's abduction had been closed for six years.

The woman with whom the boy had been living claims that it was her now-deceased husband who brought the child into their lives. She said that her husband told her that the child was from Dagestan, Russia.

The boy was placed with a foster family while his mother waited for a custody hearing.
