Actress and comedian Abby Elliot joined the Saturday Night Live cast for for the 2008-2009 season.Huffington Post: SNL Adds Two New Women (November 12, 2008) Before her stint on the program, Elliot appeared in a long-running comedy stage show in Los Angeles. Elliott has appeared in numerous television shows, including King of the Hill, Chrissy: Plain and Simple, Minoriteam and You've Reached the Elliotts.
Elliott was hired along with fellow sketch performer Michaela Watkins. Watkins is a member of The Groundlings and has previously guest-starred on the television series Grey's Anatomy, Without a Trace and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

Abby Elliott's father, Chris Elliott, is also a Saturday Night Live alumnus. He was a featured actor on the program from 1994-1995 and appeared on episodes with hosts such as David Duchovny, Damon Wayans and John Goodman. After Saturday Night Live, the elder Elliott went on to appear in Everybody Loves Raymond, Scary Movie 2, King of the Hill and other films and television shows. He is also a favorite guest on The Late Show with David Letterman.
