Abbott Laboratories, founded in 1888 by Dr. Wallace C. Abbott, is a pharmaceutical company with operations in 130 countries. In 1985, they were credited with developing the first HIV blood screening test.

Abbott Laboratories was thrust into the spotlight in December 2008 when it's name appeared on a list of donors to the William J. Clinton Foundation.
