Abbie Boudreau is an investigative correspondent for CNN. On September 29, 2010, Boudreau's name began making headlines amid reports that conservative activist and filmmaker James O'Keefe, the man behind the ACORN undercover videos, tried to "prank" her. According to CNN, O'Keefe hoped to lure Boudreau "onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session." CNN quotes a planning document as saying that O'Keefe hoped to "seduce" Boudreau on camera.http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/09/29/okeefe.cnn.prank/ http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20018030-503544.html
O'Keefe's plan didn't work. CNN says Boudreau "was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen." For her part, Boudreau told CNN "I never intended to become part of the story. But things suddenly took a very strange turn."http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/09/29/okeefe.cnn.prank/ In a lengthy blog post on CNN, Boudreau explains what happened. She said she was doing a documentary on the young conservative movement in the U.S. and had touched base with O'Keefe, who called her saying he had some "concerns" about an upcoming interview for the story. Boudreau says O'Keefe suggested they meet in person to discuss the matter. She says she flew to Maryland and went to O'Keefe's "office" for the discussion. Boudreau says when she arrived, "there was no office, as promised. Instead, he wanted to get me on a boat, which we later learned, was staged as a 'pleasure palace'."http://siu.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/29/our-documentary-takes-a-strange-detour/
Boudreau goes on to say that it was one of O'Keefe's own colleagues who told her about the plan. She identifies O'Keefe's colleague as Izzy Santa. Boudreau says Santa informed her of O'Keefe's plans to try and seduce her and film the entire exchange with hidden cameras. Boudreau says Santa told her the "sole purpose of the 'punk' was to embarrass" her and "to make CNN look bad."http://siu.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/29/our-documentary-takes-a-strange-detour/
"CNN Capers"
According to Abbie Boudreau, a 13-page document contained a great deal of information about O'Keefe's purported plans. Boudreau says the document, titled "CNN Capers," detailed at length the equipment required "to stage the boat for our meeting." Among the equipment listed: hidden cameras, a condom jar, dildos, a ceiling mirror, candles and copies of Playboy magazine.http://siu.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/29/our-documentary-takes-a-strange-detour/
