Poretzky, attended the Rhode Island School of Design, after switching from photography to fashion design she soon accepted a position at Ralph Lauren.
Inspired by the fashion sense of Lauren, Poretzky soon released her own collection in 2004, using the family crest as the Abaete Label and logo.
Her collections very from season to season, but stay true to Brazilian sensuality, French femininity and American simplicity.
