Aaron Harang is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.
Harang was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1996, but did not sign with them. He went back to college before being drafted again by the Texas Rangers in 1999, but did not make his Major League debut until 2002 when he appeared for the Oakland Athletics. Harang was traded to the Reds during the 2003 season.
In his first full year in Cincinnati, Harang went 10-9 with a 4.83 ERA. He would improve his numbers further in 2005. Harang then led the National League in complete games (6) and strikouts (216) during the 2006 season. Harang has become a consistent pitcher for the Reds in recent years. The franchise rewarded his efforts by signing him to a four-year, $36 million extension in 2007.
