Early Life
Aaron John Boone was born in La Mesa, California on March 9, 1973. Boone comes from a family of major league baseball players. He is the brother of former major league baseball player Bret Boone, the son of Bob Boone and the grandson of Ray Boone. He attended college at the University of Southern California. In 1994, Boone was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the third round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.Baseball-Reference.com: Aaron Boone
Pro Career
On June 20, 1997, Boone made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds. Boone's breakout season came in 1999, when he appeared in 139 games and hit 14 home runs, while batting .280 with 72 runs batted in. In 2003, he was traded to the New York Yankees where he helped the Yankees reached the 2003 World series with a dramatic homerun against Tim Wakefield. He missed the 2004 season with a knee injury. In 2005, he signed with the Cleveland Indians.
