A Toot and a Snore in '74 is a bootleg album recorded on March 28, 1974. It is notable for being the last time John Lennon and Paul McCartney played together. Throughout most of the album, the listener can hear Lennon complaining about the microphones and his headphones. When Lennon isn't trying to fix the microphones, the group manages to play a few classic rock songs.

Performer Background
John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, had separated temporarily. Lennon was living in Los Angeles while Ono remained in New York City. Lennon was producing an album for Harry Nilsson, when Paul McCartney showed up at the studio, having been invited there by May Pang, a friend of Ono's who had been Lennon's companion during the separation. Lennon and McCartney had not seen each other since 1970, and they had not parted on good terms. The encounter was awkward at first, but Lennon and McCartney quickly warmed to each other.
It is evident to anyone who hears the bootleg that John Lennon was most likely on cocaine during the recording. He can be heard offering Stevie Wonder a "toot" or a "snort,"BootlegZone: A Toot and a Snore in 74 hence the name of the album. -
Reviews
BootlegZone calls this album "a bizarre fragment of what must have been a raucous evening at the studio." BootlegZone recommends this bootleg only for the John Lennon/Paul McCartney fanatic, saying that anyone who is a casual listener of either musician will be confused or bored with the album.BootlegZone: A Toot and a Snore in 74Notes on the Tracks
