It follows a male star whose once-booming career is on a downward spiral. He meets a girl with talent and beauty, a friendship and then a romance develops, and the girl's career kickstarts. Tensions increase as her career takes off and his continues to plummet.

  • Career Comeback

    The 1954 musical remake of A Star is Born marked Judy Garland's return to film after a four-year hiatus. It remains one of her fans' favorite roles of hers, but she did not receive the Oscar for her performance, and indeed the film did not win in any of the six categories for which it was nominated.
