Reviews
"Occasionally preachy, but otherwise intense and provocative racially provocative drama."—Dan Jardine, AllMovie.comhttp://www.allmovie.com/work/a-soldiers-story-45520/review
"Did this movie have to be so lockstep, so trapped by its mechanical plot, so limited by a murder mystery? What the movie has to say is so pale and limited that, ironically, the most interesting character in the movie is the victim..." —Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Timeshttp://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/19840101/REVIEWS/401010385/1023
