The Christopher Isherwood novel, A Single Man, is the story of a gay man who decides to maintain his usual routine, despite the sudden death of his partner. most of the events are taken place in a single day. In the Tom Ford adaption, Colin Firth will play the gay British professor who feels a sense of isolation in Los Angeles. Matthew Goode is the the professor's boyfriend who appears in flashbacks after his death. Julianne Moore has the role of the professor's friend.
