Plot Synopsis
Despite his initial homesickness, Stephen Dedalus enjoys his strict boarding school Clongowes until debt forces his family to move to Dublin and him to attend a prestigious day school. Initially Dedalus focuses on hedonistic endeavors before becoming very religious. After being told he should enter the priesthood, Stephen realizes that the priesthood and his background conflict with his desires. He finally leaves Ireland to work on his art. -
