  • A Little Princess is the 1995 film adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's book of the same name.

    In the movie, Sara (Liesel Matthews), must leave her childhood home in India and go to boarding school in New York, after her father (Liam Cunningham) enlists in the British military to fight in WW I.

    When the British government informs Sara that her father was killed, she is left penniless, She uses dreams and story-telling to fight her loneliness and to lift her hopes and those of the other girls at the boarding school.
