  • A Goofy Movie is a Disney animated film and musical released in 1995. It was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, but is not considered part of Disney's feature-length animated film canon. The movie follows Goofy as he goes on a road trip to try and reconnect with his teenage son, Max. Though the movie uses characters established in the animated TV series, Goof Troop, it bears little to no resemblance to the series itself. It was followed up by a straight-to-DVD sequel, An Extremely Goofy Movie, released in 2000.
  • Distanced From the TV Series

A Goofy Movie used the characters from Disney's animated TV series, Goof Troop, but did not resemble the series in any other way. This was due to 1990's DuckTales Movie which performed so poorly in theaters that the studio decided any further movies based on TV series should not resemble them at all.
