A Flock of Seagulls had their most famous single in the United States in 1982 with "I Ran (So Far Away)." The song was accompanied by a popular video on MTV, which only added to public enthusiasm for the single. The song reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. VH1 named Flock of Seagulls "one of the greatest one-hit wonders" on a special program because of the hit single. The song has been covered numerous times and has made a recent resurgence in popularity due to a greater public interest music from the 1980s.
