  • A Chorus Line is a musical that debuted on Broadway in 1975. It is the longest running show on Broadway, winning nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The musical was derived from taped workshop sessions with Broadway dancers (gypsies), including eight who appeared in the original cast. It is set on the stage of a Broadway theater during a musical audition for chorus line members.
