Released in 1998, A Bug's Life marked the second computer animated co-production from Walt Disney and Pixar Studios. The story is set in an ant colony whose inhabitants are struggling to rid themselves of the bullying grasshoppers that routinely pillage their yearly food supply.
Plot Synopsis
At the center of the story is Flik (Dave Foley), an ant who doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the colony. Instead of maintaining the status quo, Flik is an aspiring inventor trying to improve the colony's food gathering methods. After one of his inventions goes awry and destroys the harvest, Flik is sent by aspiring queen Atta (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to recruit "warrior bugs" to help the ants in their fight against the oppressive grasshoppers. Flik travels to a booming metropolis of bugs, where he discovers and recruits a troupe of bugs which he believes will be perfect for the challenge.
