How Y Combinator Works
Companies are chosen in two cycles: one in the summer in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and one in the winter in Mountain View, California. Founders of chosen companies are expected to move to Y Combinator's location for at least three months, during which they will receive advice and training from experts such as lawyers, investment banks and executives. Near the end of the three months, each company has a chance to pitch their products to investors.2
