The Look

Created slightly oversized, Wunderkind likes to emphasize a larger than life look with silhouettes and rich colors. Compared to labels such as Nanette Lepore and Sass & Bide, the label is quirky with a retro feel. Mixing masculine pieces with soft feminine shapes, the look is known for its detail and level of craftsmanship.

About the Designer

Joop is a German fashion designer who originally studied advertising and then art. He discovered his talent for fashion design in 1970 when he participated in a fashion contest with his then-wife Karin. After winning the contest, Joop became a fashion editor for a year and then embarked on a career as a freelance designer. In 1978, Joop found success when he launched his fur collection and in 1982 launched his first women's collection.
