Guide note:WrestleMania IV was the first of two consecutive WrestleManias to emanate from Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. Due to a controversial finish to a Hulk Hogan--Andre the Giant match a few months earlier, the WWE Championship was vacated, and put on the line in a 16-man tournament at the event. After both Hogan and Andre got disqualified in the quarter-finals, Randy Savage (with Hogan in his corner) faced Ted DiBiase (with Andre in his corner) in the tournament finals.
