World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, the upcoming expansion to the popular MMORPG, will include optional "achievements" similar to an Xbox 360 game.¹ A variety of what the game's producers at Blizzard have described as "self-contained goals" will be available for players to choose from.²

The new achievement system in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is located in a new window, accessed from the action bar. From the new window, players can view all their completed achievements, the percent complete of each and their point values. Certain achievements yield awards, such as vanity pets and titles. Upon completion, achievements are announced to the player's guild as well as anyone in the immediate area.³

The game will ship with 500+ achievements, with varieties such as PvP, World Exploration and Quests/Raids.²

Feats of Strength are a special type of achievement in Wrath of the Lich King. They are not displayed on the main achievements menu, and are "very difficult."² Additionally, they do not yield awards like the normal achievements. Feats of Strength are awarded for elite accomplishments like acquiring rare items and achieving high PvP ranks.²
