Worms Armageddon

Worms is a series of 2D turn-based strategy/puzzle games, with Worms Armageddon being the sixth of the 11 2D variants. Worms games are defined by their bizarre weapons (e.g., super sheep, holy hand grenades, etc.) and sense of humor. In the game you take control of a team of eight worm characters, attempting to eliminate the opponent's team of worms to win. Each worm has a limited amount of health. They take damage when attacked, dying when their health is fully depleted or when they fall into the water. The game is turn-based, which means one player takes a move, their turn ends, and then the opposing team takes a move. When you create a team you can select a special weapon, which can be used in a match after it appears in the game. The special weapons are highly devastating, and can turn the tide of the match with a single move. The PC versions of the game are highly customizable, and as such have a vibrant mod community, with their custom maps and soundpacks. As an older title, physical copies of Worms Armageddon are limited, so this guide recommends the direct download PC version as the quickest means of purchasing the game.
