World Poverty Day

Guide Note:World Poverty Day is observed every October 17th, in order to promote awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution around the world. Roughly 20% of the world lives in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $1 a day. Advocates of World Poverty Day, have teamed with world leaders in a mission to cut this number in half by 2015.
