World Hemophilia Day is celebrated on April 17 every year. World Hemophilia Day was made to raise awareness for the blood disorder hemophilia. In honor of their founder Frank Schnabel, The World Federation of Hemophilia chose his birthday, April 17, to be World Hemophilia Day in 1989. World Hemophilia Day is celebrated around the world by hemophilia organizations and societies. Each year there is a different theme. Organizations hold events promoting hemophelia awareness such as sports events, exhibitions, gatherings and other activities.
