End of Game
- Fullerton would have had to see more than just Josh Akognon (31 points) get hot in this one, although Frank Robinson and Scott Cutley turned in gutsy efforts. For the most part, Wisconsin did what they do best and controlled the tempo throughout; Brian Butch, Jason Bohannon and Joe Krabbenhoft all turned in smart, balanced performances and scored in double figures. The Badgers turned it over more than CSF, but they also had more than twice as many total rebounds as did the Titans (46-21).

Halftime
- After some early turnover trouble for the Badgers and a hot streak from CSF's Josh Akognon, Wisconsin did what they do and slowed things down, causing the Titans to get out of their rhythm and cool off considerably. Fullerton dug in, though, and made a bit of a run at the end of the half to get within a bucket. The scoring was pretty even amongst the Badgers, and Akognon's 12 led his team...rebounding-wise, however, the Badgers have the edge as expected, 20-13.

Wisconsin Cal State Fullerton Bracket
- Other than the fact that they were Big Ten champs in both the regular season and the Big Ten tournament, the story with Wisconsin in 2007-08 is their defense, which is notorious for slowing down their opponents to just over 54 points per game. This could be a big problem for Fullerton; the Big West champs lived and died by their status this year as the nation's fifth-highest scoring team at nearly 83 ppg. Another issue they'll face: Wisconsin is bigger. A lot bigger, as starting center Brian Butch is 6' 11" and the Badgers frequently bring players nearly as tall off the bench. The tallest Titan starter is 6' 5", and the only team they faced this year even close to Wisconsin's size was Arizona, who beat Fullerton by 26.

Wisconsin Cal State Fullerton Pre-Game Analysis
- No one's giving Coach Bob Burton's Titans much of a shot in this one, as most think they'll settle for bringing their school an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1978. But 14 seeds have pulled off stunners before, and Burton's boys don't look intimidated. If secret weapons like Josh Akognon, who ranked 11th in the nation with 3.6 threes a game, can find a hot hand, well...you never know who'll be this year's George Mason.
