Code Talkers
Approximately 400 Navajo Indians were employed by the U.S.military in World War II. Instead of traditional Morse code, the Navajos used their native dialect to transmit military communications by radio. This method was faster than Morse code, and was also secure, as their language was understood by only a handful of people outside of the Navajo nation.2.
