Plot Summary
Lucy Moderatz (Sandra Bullock), a Chicago subway token vendor, falls in love with Peter Callaghan (Peter Gallagher) after selling him subway tokens every day on his way to work. One day, after Peter is pushed onto the train tracks by thugs and loses consciousness, Lucy saves him from being run over by a train. Lucy takes him to the hospital, where she is mistakenly taken to be his fiancee. With Peter in a coma, Lucy continues her charade with Peter's family. However, Peter's younger brother, Jack (Bill Pullman), is suspicious of her. As the family get to know and love Lucy, and she them, she also starts falling in love with Jack.
