Washington State Winthrop Bracket
- Washington State had a very successful season playing in the Pac-10 Conference, as they were one of six teams from that league to accept tournament bids. The Eagles are back for a second straight season in the tournament, and Notre Dame can certainly attest to Winthrop's ability to play at this level.

Washington State Winthrop Pre-Game Analysis
- The Cougars of Washington State are making their second straight tournament appearances, and sixth overall in school history. They finished tied for third in the Pac-10 Conference this season, including a sweep of the season series against fellow tournament teams USC and Oregon. They also defeated Gonzaga earlier this season, yet the Cougars have struggled against against the top two teams in their league, losing all four games against UCLA and Stanford, and then falling short a third time to Stanford in the conference tournament. Tony Bennett's team hopes they don't leave their hearts in Pullman, or their perimeter shooting. Four players averaged double figures in points per game for the season, led by outside scoring threat Derrick Low. Fellow guards Kyle Weaver and Taylor Rochestie can also light up the scoreboard from downtown, as the three-headed shooting trio were responsible for 159 of the team's 204 three-point field goals made this season. Winthrop gained notoriety in last year's tournament by knocking off Notre Dame for their first tournament victory in seven tries. They may not still be a household name nationally, but they are the 'Carrington family' of the Big South. Their league dynasty extended again this past season, not missing a beat when longtime coach Gregg Marshall left and was replaced by assistant Randy Peele. The Eagles have played through this season with heavy hearts following last May's passing of teammate DeAndre Adams in a car accident, and after finishing as runners-up in the Big South regular season standings, they had their way with regular season champion UNC Asheville in the championship game. The Eagles are led in scoring by Michael Jenkins (14.3 ppg) and Taj McCullough (11.5 ppg), but the Eagles like to win games with their defense, allowing an average of 58 points per game by their opponents.
