Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is a massive online multiplayer game or "MMORPG" for short. It is based on the Warhammer universe of board games, books, and other media. It can have a resemblance to that of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. The game is being developed by Electronic Arts Mythic and published by video game juggernaut Electronic Arts. EA Mythic is responsible for the very popular Dark Age of Camelot which is another massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Dark Age of Camelot is a very popular "MMO" as are other games like EverQuest, which set the standard for MMORPGs as being the first to do it. They have been nothing but blockbuster successes. Other MMORPG's also include the hugely, massive popular World of Warcraft which made the case that an MMO could be played on multiple platforms (PC and Mac) at the same time; for example a PC person playing with a person on a Macintosh computer. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been slipping in release dates and has a tentative release date of October 18th, 2008. Because of this, there is a collector's edition of the game available for purchase when the game is released.
