Walt Jocketty

Walt Jocketty is the President of baseball operations and General Manager of the Cincinnati Reds.

Jocketty is well known for his years with the St. Louis Cardinals franchise. He was the General Manager of the Cardinals from October 14, 1997 to October 3, 2007. Under his tenure the Cardinals won 1 World Series Championship, two national league championships and seven Central Division championships.

He was originally hired by the Cincinnati Reds on January 11, 2008 to be a special adviser to owner Robert Castellini. But with the team struggling during the tenure of Wayne Krivsky, speculation was that Jocketty was brought in, along with new manager Dusty Baker to eventually take over the reigns of the franchise and turn around the losing culture of the team. It was made official on April 23, 2008 when Wayne Krivsky was fired and was replaced with Jocketty as General Manager.
