Waleed bin Attash is among the six men, dubbed the "Guantanamo Six," who were formally indicted by The Pentagon on February 11, 2008, for their involvement in the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Attash was allegedly selected to be one of the plane hijackers, but was unable to perform the task after he was arrested in Yemen. Instead, he was arranged travel plans for the other hijackers.¹ 'Attash has also admitted to his involvement in other terrorist attacks worldwide.

In a July 10, 2008, testimony before a Guantanamo court, Bin Attash proclaimed that, "Any attack I undertook against America, or ever participated in, or helped with, I'm proud about it..."⁴
