Waffles are a breakfast food like pancakes only cooked in a waffle iron to give them a distinct shape. There are many different varieties of waffles. The Belgian waffle is a very popular type of waffle. You can make waffles yourself or you can buy them frozen and just pop them in the toaster for a quick meal.

Toppings for waffles vary. Some people just use butter and syrup, some like whipped cream and fruit on their waffles.
