WTC Glacial Pothole
A glacial pothole in the bedrock has been revealed 110 feet below the streets of New York City by structural engineers planning the foundation of Tower 4 for the new World Trade Center. The hole, a 40 foot deep ding in the bedrock, was created by the movement of glacial ice some 500 million years ago.
