New York Congressman Vito Fossella has admitted having an extramarital affair, and fathering a child with former Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Laura Fay.

In a brief statement issued on May 8, 2008, the 43-year-old Fossella said he has a three-year-old daughter from his relationship with Fay.

Fossella Arrest

Fossella's admission of the affair with Fay came one week after the Staten Island Republican was arrested in Virginia on charges of driving under the influence. Questions were raised after Fossella said in a statement that he called Ray after his arrest. Reports said Fossella told authorities he was on his way to see his sick daughter.
