Visian Permanent Contact Lenses

Visian Permanent Contact Lenses are composed of an implantable collamer, much like the composition of the eye. The surgery implants the lens under the cornea and iris, to lay directly on the patient's current biological lens. The surgery takes from 10 to 20 minutes and both eyes can be done in the same day. While approval for the process has been in place in Europe for over 15 years, the FDA finally gave it's approval in 2005. It has become more popular as the word gets out that the surgery can help those who don't qualify for Lasik eye surgery. Average costs for the operation are around $3,500 per eye.
