Guide Note
The Virginia Tech Hokies is a college football team that plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The program has grown into one of the premier programs in the country over the last 20 years, under the direction of head coach Frank Beamer. Beamer is the currently the third in all-time victories among active coaches, trailing only Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno. Under Beamer's leadership, the Hokies have appeared in 15 consecutive bowl games, and 16 in the last 20 years. They've also won five conference championships during that time, including three in the Big East Conference, and two of the last four ACC Championships. The Hokies played in the 2000 BCS Championship Game at the Sugar Bowl, losing to current conference rival Florida State.

Other legendary Virginia Tech players include Corey Moore, Carroll Dale, Antonio Freeman, DeAngelo Hall, Kevin Jones and Don Strock.
