Valkyrie is a dramatic feature film directed by Bryan Singer and starring Tom Cruise, which is set for release on December 26, 2008. The movie is about the historic July 20 Plot of 1944, in which several German officers attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler. The plot was orchestrated by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, who is played by Tom Cruise in the film.

Problems on the Set
Production of Valkyrie hit many speed bumps as the descendants of von Stauffenberg, along with many German politicians, did not support the making of the film because of Cruise's ties to Scientology. The release date has also been pushed back several times.
The production of Valkyrie was thrown yet another obstacle on August 26, 2008, when it was announced that 11 extras from the film were suing Cruise and his production company, United Artists, for personal injuries obtained on the set in August of 2007.1
