UNLV Kent State Pre-Game Analysis

  • We've got what looks to be a hotly contested game when number 8 UNLV faces-off with number 9 Kent State in the first round of the tourney. Kent State has a slight edge according to the Las Vegas odds-makers, who gave the Golden Flashes a two-point spread. Kent State finished with 20 consecutive victories this season, which makes this the school's 10 straight year to do so. In February, Kent State earned its first AP ranking, going 16-0 at home and finishing first in the MAC. "We've had a great run," said Mike Scott a senior forward. "But there's still work to be done."
  • This marks UNLV's 16th appearance in the tournament, finishing in the sweet 16 in the 2007 tourney. Lead by Junior guard Wink Adams, UNLV beat BYU in the conference championship to take the Mountain West this year, however, the Running Rebels still finished second in its conference.
