#43 Troy Polamalu is a Pro Bowl strong safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Polamalu was born Troy Benjamin Aumua and attended high school in Winston, Oregon where he played football, basketball and baseball. In his senior year he was selected to the All-Far West Team for his play at running back and defensive back. He was recruited by the University of Southern California where he started all 3 years and shared a room with quarterback Carson Palmer. In 2003 the Pittsburgh Steelers chose Polamalu 16th overall and he was instantly used in the defensive scheme. He has been recognized as one of the NFL's top defensive backs and been selected to every Pro Bowl since he entered the league.
