Tremelimumab


Guide Note:

Tremelimumab, formerly ticilimumab, is a drug produced by Pfizer. Clinical studies have been ongoing for a treatment for melanoma using trememlimumab. Tremelimumab works by boosting the immune system to target and attack tumor cells. Phase one clinical trails showed safety in administering up to 15 mg to patients with advanced melanoma.

In April 2008, Pfizer announced discontinuation of the phase three clinical trials for trememelimumab. Clinical trials showed that it did no better for patients with advanced melanoma than chemotherapy.
