Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand during a game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 12, 2008. After initially announcing his intention to play through the injury, Romo stated on October 22, 2008, that he does not expect to return to the field until mid-November of 2008.1

Despite projections that he would need four weeks to recover, Romo told the Cowboys coaching staff that he planned to play. Romo dressed but did not play in a game against the St. Louis Rams on October 19, 2008, in which the Cowboys fell to the Rams 34 to 14.4 Romo later announced that he would not play until after the Cowboys' bye on November 9, 2008.1
