Tofurkey is a vegetarian substitute for turkey. Tofurkey is usually made from tofu or seitan. It has become a popular main dish for those not wanting to eat meat.

Island Turtle Foods' Tofurky sales hit new highs in 2007. While traditional turkey remained most popular, many people opted for a meat alternative. Turtle Island Foods reported that Tofurky sales were up nearly 40% in 2007 from 2006. Sales of Tofurky helped the company turn from a small, family run business to a company with $11 million in sales.
